Why don't my computer speakers work!?!??!!?

my speaker are plugged in the correct spot, and i have a sound card what could possibly be making it non-soundable?i've turned it on turned it on full volume and theres nothing.

  1. have you used those speakers before on that same computer?

    Have you even used speakers on your computer at all?

    is this pc or mac?

    if it's on PC:

    double click on the little speaker icon on your task bar system tray. (lower right corner)you may have to click the arrow to see more of the system tray

    a window will pop up

    click on options (top corner of the window) then properties on the drop-down menu

    a window will pop up

    make sure that your sound card is there.

    near the middle of the window, click on playback

    under that there will be a list of devices (some are checked while others are unchecked)

    make sure everything has a green check mark before it

    click ok

    make sure nothing is muted.

    change the <MASTER VOLUME>  to a setting u would like (i usually keep it on the highest settings because my speakers have volume control on them)

    if that doesn't solve your problem something is wrong.


  2. Call Tech support. Make them come and fix it for you.

  3. Did you check your computer's general volume?  Is it set to mute?  Double check the settings.

  4. This happens either when a virus comes in and destroys your computer components.

                                    OR

    when you reboot your computer everything is wiped out.

    Look at the brand of your computer and go to their website. Go to drivers and downloads and enter in the serial code or what ever it ask for.

    Look for sound card. Download.

    OPEN THE MY COMPUTER AND CLICK C DRIVE AND CLICK YOUR COMPUTER NAME AND CLICK AUDIO AND CLICK INSTALL

    WHAT I DONE IS THERE IS A CD GIVEN WHEN YOU BUY YOUR COMPUTER LIKE WINDOWS OPERATING AND RUN IT AND CLICK CUSTOM INSTALL (MEANS IT CHANGES YOUR WINDOWS )

    THATS THE BEST STEP TO TAKE FOR INSTALLING IT MIGHT TAKE OVER SEVERAL HOURS THANKS  

  6. probably the sound card drivers are either wrong or not installed.
