  1. Sounds like your tomatoes need more sunshine to ripen...

Or there are varieties which stay green when ripe, there are even striped ones (my fav)!

  2. from the sun light

  3. maybe you didn't give it a good nutrients it wants.

  4. Are they tomatillos?

  5. Because there not ready yet! Duh!

I just got my first red one yesterday!

But the nighbors dog got to it first.

  6. Could be they aren't mature enough to ripen yet, could be they won't ever turn red because they are yellow tomatoes...

    but...

tomatoes don't ripen in the sun. They ripen in the dark.

  7. More sun and more time.

Maybe planted a little late in the season.

  8. it depends, are they in the fridge? they ripen alot slower in cold temperatures, put them on the counter

are they still on the palnt? put them in direct sunlight

are they on the counter and you house is too cool? put them outside in a basket in direct sunlight

  9. contrary to what some believe 'maters ripen in the dark. so if you have picked any and have set them in the window sill to catch sunlight forget it. Not necessary. What you do is simply put 2 or 3 tomatoes in a paper bag (paper not plastic)  and put them in a dark cool area for a few days and I promise you will be amazed. also cold hurts the flavor of tomatoes so donmt refridgerate until you have sliced one.

  10. maybe you didn't grow them soon enuf and they stopped growing, or just wait longer, my tomatoes r still green

  11. If your tomatoes are still on the vine,it may be better to pick them, pop them in a paper bag(not plastic),and put in a warm dark place.Outside may be too cold or windy.Do you grow against a tin fence?Corrugated tin panels behind toms will generate heat thus helping to redden fruit.

  12. It may not be hot enough for them. You can ripen them by picking them and putting them inside a brown paper bag...they'll turn red.

  13. The seeds may have no been so good, try getting new seeds, or wait a while, it may be because of weather conditions.

  14. you are probably growing them in an area with little nutrients in the ground from them to grow... or you just havent given them enough time

  15. Not watering enough???

  16. If they are not in direct sunlight they won't turn. They need direct sunlight to turn red. However, the green ones taste great fried and dipped in bread crumbs.

  17. yes more time and i can tell you a trick if you take newspaper and rap around the tomatoes with out touching the tomatoes with your hands you can wrap it up in the newspaper and put it under your bed and have fresh tomatoes come Christmas
