Why don't officers in the forces salute william and harry?

as a member of the family of the reigning monarch, they should be saluted.

Why are they not?

  1. because within the forces, regardless of their social rank, william and harry are simple soldiers with no rank other than that they have earned.


  2. because its the queen as head is their senior officer

  3. The armed forces salute their monarch, who is their commander-in-chief, not everybody who happens to be related to her.

  4. Of course they are saluted but by a return salute!

  5. They are not General or Majors Yet.
