Why don't other teams have a big screen outside of the arena so people could watch?

I've went to watch a pens game on the big screen outside of the stadium and it is almost as good as watching it in the arena. and tonight they are opening the arena and selling tickets for $5 and people can watch the game on the jumbotron.

the pens have dont this all through the playoffs

Because not all teams have fair-weather fans and aren't being rumored to be moving to Kansas City.

They don't want to pay for it or maintain it.

Well there really is no room outside the Joe.  There's a highway on one side, a river on one side, and Cobo Hall on the other.

there are other teams do that. The Sabres have done it the past two seasons, and Captain Jeff said the Canes did it during their cup run also.

The Wings and Pistons have been doing it for years, opening the Joe and the Palace to allow for great times!

No wings big screen outside, however I believe the Pistons did it a time or 2, partly weather related I imagine.  Then area out side of the Joe is not condusive for a screen outside.

The big screen is an awesome idea that ALL teams should do when they make it to the playoffs.  And show the game on the big screen in the arena, too, when the team is on away games.
