  1. Because they are more worried about paying it back.

  2. Because they are too worried forget paying on time.

  3. Because society is built wholly on the pay it forward concept and only a society that is collapsing needs to actually articulate it in a book and movie.

Do parents look after children because the children have already place a deposit on their retirement village (no), do friends help each other because they have already been helped (no we help each other because we like each other).

The real problem with pay it forward has been shown in countless studies, while the majority of us can act in a way that this results in mutual benefit there are a small proportion of people who will exploit this for their own benefit with the result being they win and you lose sucker.

Which means that pay it forward generally works only in communities and not amongst strangers.

We all pay it forward, it is called taxes, our money goes out to the community where it is distributed to the community at large for the overall benefit of society.

  4. Some people in the world do not feel very loved and so they have problem giving. Others are struggling just to make it in the world and don't have anything to give.

People who psychologically can't even hand out a compliment, should probably be in therapy.

I pay it forward as often as I can. When my children grow up, I'll be able to do more.

  5. selfishness?
