Question:

Why don't people appreciate correct answers?

Well, I've come to the end of the line. I am seriously considering bowing out of Y!A due to the small number of people that are constantly trolling and giving thumbs down or doing other things like stuffing my mailbox.

So, for the sins of a few I am considering getting out of the Answers business. Thumbs down and other aggressive acts are not to post disagreements in my opinion, but for answers that are demonstrably wrong. So, if this doesn't clear up, it is Bon Voyage to my friends on Y!A.

  1. its not been long since i put myself in Y/A .  I know i am not good at it but i still try to help others with the information and experience i have.  why am i here is because of you people who can help me know better.  i think these people are not passionate bikers who do not know how to respect.  best thing you should do is to ignore them and they will have no stand eventually.  stay put and you will be blessed.

  2. I don't seem to have any trouble with trolls or people stuffing

    my mailbox.....oh well.

    Anyway- see ya.

  3. You can't let a few people bother you. You know the saying, 10 negative comments for every 1 positive one or however it goes. People will just get bored and come on and troll looking for someone that knows less than them, nit pick, or else they are just looking for an argument. I haven't been on here long but the answers you give seem to be spot on. Thanks.

  4. Do you give up riding because you get cut off a few times per ride by drivers running stop signs and/or failing to signal?

  5. I agree with you.

i post big long awnser's some take me 1hour to post, seing i do lot's of re-search and all that, and it's like a huge anwsner saying everyting, ex: he is asking why he's chain come's off and what to do about it, i awsner like: well the problem might be this, or that, try this that, and everyting, and the other dude that just says : pull the rim. get's best awsner and i get thumb;s down etc... when it clearly said in my awsner to pull the rim.. you know...

they to lazzy to read my long *** awsner's and i hate it, i am tinking of quiting this too.

  6. Send that to the people who run it. I am tired of that c**p too.

  7. You always give right on answers(as far as i've seen) and people are just unappreciative some times. I feel you are a huge asset to Y!A and would hate to not see your answers be a possibility to one of my questions. You hold alot of weight and have tons of knowledge in this particular field. Not trying to kiss up but, You are definitely needed here.

  8. Well I for one appreciate the answers of the few who really know their stuff and are here to share their knowledge and experience with those of us who come here looking for help and answers. I just bought a bike and I'm getting back in the saddle after a LONG time so i KNOW i'm going to have many questions. Hope you decide to stick around... I may need help!

  9. Sometimes people don't like what you say because they were looking for a cheaper way out, think your explanation is too complicated, you're trying to sell something, or you don't agree with they're assessment. I know, then why did they ask? Because they were looking for your approval of what they were going to do anyways.

The sad thing is, having read your answers, you're 99% correct. I say 99% because I've never met anyone 100% correct all of the time;)

I give as many thumbs up as thumbs down, maybe more. The reason I give thumbs down is just like you say, the answer is demonstrably wrong. My pet peave is smart alec comments. They help no one and are against the whole spirit of this board.

I wish there was a frequently asked questions area where folks like you and I could post pretty straight forward, honest answers.

Whatever your decision, I wish you well. People sometimes underestimate just how specialized bike mechanic is and undervalue them. That's too bad. The wealth of knowledge is every  bit as impressive as the best car or motorcycle mechanic, especially since there are more bicycles that cars and motorcycles combined.

  10. i appreciate your answers.
