  1. If you are referring to California, we also have earthquakes, after 1906 few homes in California are made from brick.  In the past wood was a lot cheaper, that is changing.

  3. Good question...some people just don't get it I guess.

  4. Usually because they are under the misconception that brick and concrete are much more expensive.

  5. In hurricane or tornado areas, wood may be preferred because it can flex more than brick and concrete block (which gives them a greater chance of surviving strong winds).
