Sacrifices are no longer needed. Jesus was the last great sacrifice. Pretty simple when you take the time to think about it.

God sent down fire, he sent Jesus but our wicked hearts refuse to believe.

This was a form of sacrifice. When Jesus died on the cross he became the Lamb of God and the one true sacrifice.

it was not the people who did it. it was god who caused the fire to happen. God told Elijah to do that, Elijah did not do it out of his own conceit.
