Why don't people in Hawaii throw there trash in a volcano?

I heard Hawaii was having trouble finding ways to get rid of there trash. So why don't they throw in a volcano and let it burn. Will the volcano gods be vengeful an erupt just kidding with that last part but really want to know.

It's kind of like the question: Why not use the Volcano as a form of capitol punishment?

because if they did the gas coming out of the volcano would posin them because chemicals in the trash.

i guess its bad for the enviroment because when it burns it coulld release bad gases into the enviroment

Well, all of the major islands that people actually live on don't have any active volcanoes, besides the Big Island. The most popular one, Oahu, doesn't have any active olcanoes.
