  1. Depends on what you mean by slow.  On a 70 mph expressway people seem to think going 85 is okay.  Thats fine if you don't mind getting pulled over once in awhile, but for people trying to go 75 and use the left lane to get by slower drivers don't appreciate people on their tails.  We will get over to the right lane when there is an opening.  We have the cruise set.  We are not going to speed up for you.  If you are late, its not our fault.  Set your alarm earlier.  Don't endanger the lives of other motorists because you like to waste gas and support terrorism in the process.  If there it someone behind me, I get into the slow lane at the soonest opportunity.  Using cruise helps me save gas.  Try it once.

If people have somewhere to be, plan on using the sane speeds.  5-10 mph over is max.  Leave at the right time.

The world will be a better place for everybody!

  2. i used to think that. until i started driving like them.

the explanation is simple. at some point in time, you realize most drivers are worse drivers than you or drive slower than you or don't know the difference btw fast and slow lane,

meaning if you stay in the slow lane, you'l only let slower or worse drivers ( who drive on the fast lane ) get ahead of you while if you stay in the fast lane, you could drive relatively faster and its much easier just going straight than staying on slow lane where you will be worrying about others passing you left and right, plus you avoid difficulty of being on slow lane and then  having to go fast then slow to pass slower cars.

of course i dont drive too slow on the fast lane but just fast enough not to be a danger to other drivers.

for guys driving at breakneck speed, me going not fast enough for him and him driving not slow enough for me does not make me more a hazard to him as he is to me.

  3. Because people see it as the "fast lane" instead of the "passing lane". People are over there going 5 over and think, "Lol I'm going fast enough teehee!" and proceed to stay in the "fast lane". The left lane is the passing lane. That is why it's nicknamed the fast lane. It's because people in that lane are going faster than you so you should move out of their way.

People who are going slower than the flow of traffic in that lane are the ones who cause accidents. The two most dangerous parts on a highway is the far right lane(where people are entering and exiting the highway) and the far left lane(where left lane campers s***w up the flow of traffic).

Long story short it's because they're bad drivers. I remember once I was on the highway going 75 in a 55. I was passing traffic so I was in the left lane. A Chrysler 300C is gaining on me(going about 80 I guess). Instead of think, "Bah humbug I'm going fast enough!" I just moved over and let him pass. I then went back into the left lane and followed him.
