  1. ethanol (or any food fuel) requires vastly more resources, time and energy than crude oil.

this is commercial agriculture's last "hail mary" efforts to save a dying industry.

    real solution:

    need less energy

  2. Because Exxon and Shell have their grubby fingers in every pocket that has anything to do with making decisions.  Pick up the paper tomorrow and pick any article.  The debate won't be over what's the right or wrong thing to do.  It'll be over how much it costs.

  3. Bio-fuels are not the long term answer. You have to remember that to get ethanol you have to grow the corn then build the infrastructure to refine it, and ship it. In order to do all that we would have to devote far too much land and resources. this goes for ethanol and pretty much any other bio-fuel around now. This would result in a negative feedback on the environment and be potentially worse than fossil fuels, for which we already have the infrastructure in place. Besides the plants that fossil fuels are derived from grew millions of years ago. We need to improve fuel economy and emission standards before we find a logical alternative.

  4. The reason why because ethanol and biodiesel will be very expensive when release into the market mass (nation wide) all the gas station must change their stations to ethanol pumps and only some car companies would have the money and capability or making mass productions of fuels of that nature. Here are some links

  5. People are using corn oil for fuel, by converting it to bio diesel, but soy beans are much more efficient for oil yield than corn.  Corn is being used  to make ethanol, which is also being used as fuel.

  6. I don't know some people are retarded. Global warming is going to kick in.
