  1. They are very expensive!

I chose to drive an economy car that costs half the price and also, I simply changed my driving habits.

For the past 3 years, I have cut my annaul mileage in half by simply walking, or biking to work.  In my opinion, changing your driving habits is more beneficial than buying a hybrid car and driving all the time.

  2. I presume you haven't ever bought a new car.  The only hybrids that are cost effective are the Prius and the Camry, and possibly the Civic.  The rest of them cost more than they will save over the life span of the car.

If the price of gas goes up, many more of them will be cost effective.

  3. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

  4. Because they are:

    1) ugly

    2) expensive

    3) Underpowered

    4) No fun to drive

Item 2 is probably the real killer.  There is no way you can recover the additional cost of the hybrid car with the attainable gasoline savings.

  5. i dont care about the environment so i dont use em.

  6. Why don't people wipe they're a's with leaves? Get to the root of human motivation to begin your quest for answers. Don't assume anything else.

  7. Because they cost too much and it will be at least 10 years before you notice the savings except people only care for whats on the tv today let alone what the world will be like next year

  8. hybrid cars are expensive...too expensive for most people. in theory they will be much better for the environment but only for the reduction of air pollution. what is not being highlighted is that more oil is used in producing the fuels for the hybrids. this causes more environmental pollution than normal oils.

drain off of some alternative fuels have been found to cause 'dead zones' on the land and in the water around the fuel manufacturing plants because it kills the land and water for environmental life that we are trying to save.

i think officials are trying meet public demand for greener living and rushing to market but not looking at the further picture. living. greener living is nothing new...we had it in the 70's and the hippies of the 60's had the same ideals too. it is a start however, more just has to be done to conserve the environment before it is too late for everyone.

  9. It has to do more with greed and ego more than anything else. People like LOUD engines, with LOUD looks to rev and show off and act all important and superior. They love V-12 engines and doing 120 on the freeway.

I don't believe for a second that they cost "too much" cause people spend way more on SUV's and trucks that get less than half the mileage

  10. Our electric power concerns me more than cars. Cars are only about 10-12% of the CO2 produced by man. Power for homes and buildings is the largest source.

  11. Our environment is not in that much danger, and if it did one car wouldn't be enough to save it.

  12. Cus Hybrid cars are Expensive and look too g*y for the amount of money you would spend on them. This Generation loves the shine & style, :)

  13. Because the hybrids are expensive and they don't know about the "World's Cleanest Car" that is run on compressed air.

" After fourteen years of research and development, Guy Negre has developed an engine that could become one of the biggest technological advances of this century. Its application to Compressed Air Technology(CAT) vehicles gives them significant economical and environmental advantages. With the incorporation of bi-energy (compressed air + fuel) the CAT Vehicles have increased their driving range to close to 2000 km with zero pollution in cities and considerably reduced pollution outside urban areas.

The application of the MDI engine in other areas, outside the automotive sector, opens a multitude of possibilities in nautical fields, co-generation, auxiliary engines, electric generators groups, etc. Compressed air is a new viable form of power that allows the accumulation and transport of energy. MDI is very close to initiating the production of a series of engines and vehicles. The company is financed by the sale of manufacturing licenses and patents all over the world."
