Why don't police cars have hub caps?

The only thing I can think of is that they'd be too easy to lose with all the high speed chases etc? I don't know. I live in Hawaii.

Has anyone seen a police car with hub caps? Where?

  1. i have seen some police cars that do have hubcaps

  2. If I had to hazzard a guess I'd think its because they are buying fleet vehicles and it would just be an added expense for no real reason. I've noticed that our local county PD does not have hubcaps, but the surrounding town does have chrome hubcaps on theirs. An interesting aside, our local county cars are going to change colors from an ugly yellow to the standard white to save 3000 per car from having to paint them when they get them.

  3. it's cheaper to buy them that way.

  4. Because around fast corners and big bums they will come off.  in the small town I live in most of the cops drive Tahoe's with alum rims and the cars are crown Vic's with no hubcaps. But I live out in the sticks where when people run, they just hang a right into the woods or to the river.

  5. So they do not get stolen in the Ghetto
