  1. cuz they dont wanna be a loser like government

  2. The government sector is rarely efficient enough to justify the five days of work it is getting paid for, while the private sector has an opportunity to create  20% more opportunity by working six days rather than five.

  3. ..my company work 6 days a week.

    but we have alternate saturday. let say i work today(yes im working today) so on next saturday im off.

    work on sunday is normal as im in advertising and printing line..well..thats the different betwen govt and private.

    govt= 'system'

    private= flexible.

  4. Well I work for a telco company, Malaysia's biggest in terms of subscriber base and market share - you already know the answer - and we get 5-day week:).

    For private hospitals and medical labs the reason why they have to work 6 days a week is because of the large work volume, i.e. the large number of samples they have to analyse and some tests can only be completed over 1-2 days. The doctors and patients want quick results so they can solve the problems, so you cannot just tell patients who come on Fridays 'look you aren't getting results til next Wednesday because Sat and Sun the lab is closed'.

    At the end of the day it still depends on size of the company in terms of revenue and profit, and efficiency. If they work 5-days a week and revenue is still growing at the targeted rate, then it is enough. Increasing work to 6 days or 5.5 days a week may not increase revenue, so working smart instead of hard can be a solution. For customer service sectors , 6 days is necessary because clients who work full 5-days can only come to pay certain bills or settle enquiries on Sat.

  5. Working on saturday is a huge waste of time coz most other companies are closed and theres nothing much can be done on saturday unless if your company deals with other companies that opens on saturday as well.

    Government sector on the other hand should open from sunday-thursday and closes on friday&saturday. So that the public could go to the government offices eg. epf, immigration etc on sunday instead of having to excuse themselves from work over the weekdays. This is just my thoughts. Peace! :)

  6. My company work 5 days a week, sometimes 6, sometimes 7. I have no problem with that. If we follow the gov, rugi laaa....
