  1. We the people can set term limits it's called the vote and right now it is the only means we have to correct the problem. The politicians are not going to change the voting laws that would take away their very lucrative jobs.  Most people agree with term limits for all the politicians except for the ones in their own district.

  2. Politicians are the ones who enact the laws, so they aren't going to vote to lose their jobs. Even a constitutional amendment requires setting up by politicians.

Also, the way Congress works these days, it takes a long time to get any influence. You have to have more experience, sit in on committees, and make connections to get anything done, and that takes years and years. If you have to put somebody new in, then all that effort is lost. If you have somebody who is a GOOD politician, and is doing good things for your state, why would you WANT to kick him out, just because of an artificial term limit? We get a chance to vote each one out every few years anyway.

The only argument I can see for Congressional term limits is when the people in a state just don't bother to pay any attention to what their politicians are doing, don't care if they are good or corrupt, or approve of actions the rest of us might disagree with. But that's not the systems fault, it's ours for being so lazy and ignorant.

  3. there is term limits for politicians.ex.two terms is the limit for a president.
