Why don't robins eat seeds?

  1. different types of birds eat different types of seeds, and it probably just so happens that the type of seeds that are in the bird feeder the robins just don't like.


  2. No, they don't eat seeds, they eat dried or fresh fruit, and of course worms. If you want to attract the robins, just throw some fresh fruit or raisins out there. And they really enjoy flopping around in bird baths, too.

  3. They perfer worms.  I noticed the same thing at my bird feeder so I looked it up. They also like insects and some kinds of fruit and berries.  They can't digest seeds.

  4. Not all birds eat seeds.  Some species eat insects, some eat small animals, some eat carrion, & some eat nuts, berries, or seeds.  A bird's beek is specifically designed for the type of food it eats, so some are better at tearing fleash or cracking open nuts.
