Why don't some people believe that humans cause global warming?

I mean, we at least cause some global warming. Some warming of God's Earth is probably caused by natural effects, but people definitely contribute to it.

It is important that you know what the global warming hypothesis is.  Co2 is a greenhouse gas, increasing levels of co2 in the atmosphere are responsible for all of the warming, and that this warming will be catastrophic.  

The warming we have experienced up until now is not catastrophic.  What they are saying is that if we do not cut back on co2 emissions temperatures will rise substantially. They come to this conclusion by feeding certain data into a computer.  One of these data is that 90% of the 20th century warming is due to the increases of co2 into the atmosphere.  So if you believe that some of the warming is due to nature, then the data changes and  future warming predictions will come down.

As for your claim of polar bears dying off, rest assured they are doing fine.

This bring us to the most important question.  Why are people lying to you that polar bears are going extinct?  And can you trust such people?

The problem is that all sides are looking for simple answers to very complex problems.  Add to that the fact that there are some real political ramifications and costs, based on your position, and you have a very volatile mix of science and politics.

The politicians love the confusion, because it gives them yet another opportunity to tweak the message to their advantage.  My advice, be critical of both sides and question the accuracy of your sources.

Also, there is a middle ground.  Work to reduce your personal carbon footprint, out of personal integrity, but give others the freedom to accept or reject doing the same thing.

The polar bears aren't dying, the antartic ice caps didn't shrink and the arctic ice caps grew back this year.

Those ARE the stats.    And no, they don't lie.

It's a pretext for people who have wanted to force others to "change their behavior" since long before the climate was at issue.    

This is a free country.

I'll "behave" how I want thank you very much.

Dana has no more right to dictate my "behavior" when it comes to my commute or my plastic shopping bags (and I do need plastic because I re-use them as trash bags) than Pat Robertson has to dictate your "behavior" with regard to your religion or sexuality.

It's not different just because you do it.

Look at the claim.  We increased co2 in the atmosphere 100ppm (parts per million) over the last 100 years and this caused a 1 deg increase in global temperatures.

This is just one (1) co2 molecule per million per year increase.  How is something this small going to have any impact?

This increase is just a scant 0.01% increase over 100 years, or just 0.0001% per year.

The Sun contributes a far greater impact than just one molecule of co2, don't you think?

[Edit] It's winter - The Arctic ice is back at normal levels and this year because of the cold it's thicker than normal.

Polar bears are doing just fine with the exception of the animated bears in Algore's movie.  Sadly they are no longer with us.

It's just pure denial, plain and simple.  I don't usually reference Al Gore, but his movie was very appropriately titled.  Man-made global warming is an inconvenient truth.  It means we have to change our behavior and take responsibility for altering the global climate.  Some people just can accept this, and so they resort to whatever means will allow them to remain in denial.

no the statistic do not lie they say 95 or 98% of things in the atmosphere are put there by the earth! though the melting ice caps are deffinetly human negligence. ever noticed, the ice is black on it's surface, if it is not reflective it will absorbe heat, my greatest fear is that cities heve been built on the most firtile and productive land around the world. and insects fertalise flowers so they produce seed for our rice crispies, oats for our poradge, wheat for our bread etc... i don't think anyone should worry about global warming i think adam(earth) knows exactly what it is doing. what would your condition be if you could not get anything in your local shop how soon do you think people will turn to cannabilism. our govenments are incompetint though why should i blame them they are geting paid by us if a country recives only 10% devestation i dont think there will be that much help at least not for a long time. how much worse if it where 90% devestation. and who do you think will be in control of that 10% it will not make a difference if your police, doctor, lawer, etc... we will all be in that same place. one benifit, at least we wont have to listen to the rubish our govornment put out.

Figures don't lie, but liars figure.

Extend your graph back to 1900 and you will see that when CO2 goes up, temperature goes up, then temperature goes down, then temperature goes up.

If you wanted to show "truth" you would have shown more of the graph.  If you wanted to deceive, you did it just right.
