If "America Runs on [it]" then why are we hurting the environment with their styrofoam cups? Paper cups, made from recycled paper, seem a little more reasonable, no?

  1. They are cheaper for one thing and another if people arent complaining and staking out this problem and people buying from them like crazy then why change things? I mean could be what they are thinking.

  2. Yeah, Styrofoam sucks!  But paper cups and those sleaves to keep you from burning yourself are just as bad.  Do what I do:  brew your own coffee at home; if you do go out, bring your own mug or thermos!

  3. It's cheaper for one. It transfers less heat. Even the paper cup ones transfers plenty of heat to the holder and also causes the coffee to go cold quicker.

Maybe the expect the end user, meaning you the buyer, to be the responsible one and recycle. I mean why not. You are the last one to have it so if you don't it is your fault not theirs. I mean they are still sold in supermarkets too. People keep buying them because they are cheap and simply throw them away. You can't pin this on a donut business because of people being lazy or inconsiderate.
