  1. Because it doesn't make financial sense!  Think of all the money they save on extra man power-recycle services etc.

    It's corporate greed.

  2. How about asking them??????????

  3. Ha, they do...

    .

Why do you think they make different flavors...

    .

They recycle the coffee bean thats been.

  4. wow what a great topic.  Starbucks may show some aspects of corporate responsibility but only enough to show their shareholders the niche they are meeting in the marketplace is giving them enough money.

Corporate responsibility is to the stakeholders secondarily and to shareholders primarily.  If you think that recycling starbucks coffee cups can have that big of an impact on the environment then there should be a demand in the marketplace to make it a viable business seperate from starbucks.

If it really does that much and people demand it like you seem to, then starbucks would pay handsomely for your new business.

  5. if you ask, they'll give you their coffee grounds to compost!

  6. i'm so sorry you people have been miss informed .All of their containers are bio degratatable and Starbucks coffee company is One of largest environmentally concience corp. in the world. They even have a seprate mission statment just for social responsibility towards the environment. THeir coffee  prices are so high because of payroll, charities, and the stability of the coffee farmers. Also they started the Foundation for Literacy.......Should i go on?

I stand corrected ; made from recycled material isn't the same as bio-degratable. (i guess i get carried away sometimes)not every company does some of the things that they do, it's almost impossible to run a consumable business without creating waste

  7. this is obviously not a question to get an actual answer, this is a question meaning to insight bashing against another corporate company.

starbucks uses recycled products, not to mention they do recycle. In case you can't figure out that their trash bins in store are ones for cups and other paper products and the other is for plastic such as coffee stirs, lids and silver wear(plastic of course)

If you actually read into it, the starbucks that own their own stores are almost 100% recycling stores. The ones inside malls or other shopping centers have very little control because it's not in their power to control the waste management for the entire shopping center. Their trash is ultimately getting mixed with other stores trash and it's waste management company that is not doing their job correctly.

I'm sorry , but lets switch to Mcdonald's. You throw all your trash in one container unlike Starbucks that gives you the opportunity to recycle.

and of course it comes down to the consumer whether or not they will take the time to separate their trash.

So before you go and try to ask a serious question, think of if you are actually asking it because you care or because you just want people to bash the company you hate.

  8. there are plenty of trees

  9. big mac, taco bell, Wendy's, dairy queen the list goes on for trash in the streets

  10. Because they are a bunch of capitalist, corporate, ignorant, environment destroyers.

  11. This is one of the reasons I refuse to go to Starbucks..they are a bunch of hypocrites claiming to be environmentalists.  They also do not SERVE Shade grown coffee, they only sell it.  They do buy cups made from recycled materials..but if they are not then recycling it again...it is pretty useless..can you imagine how many BILLIONS of Starbucks coffee cups are in landfills right now..it makes me sick even thinking about it!!

  12. I have taken several bags of used grounds from them and used in the garden and given away to friends who garden. They package the grounds for people to take!!! so don't be so down on STARBUCK'S!!!!!

  13. coz they don't want to

but you hav 2 agree they do make dam good coffee

    mmmmmmmmmmmm
