Why don't the Democrats get it about Palin's daughter?

Conservatives don't thing bringing a baby into the world is a bad thing. I think alot of times people wish the circumstances were different. But accepting responsibility for the new life is paramount in all circumstances to conservatives. Alot of babies are born out of wedlock, some people prefer it that way, but they didn't terminate the pregnancy. Then they have respect and admiration of Conservatives.

So why are Democrats trying to poke sticks in Conservatives eyes over Palin's daughter? She's going to raise the baby.

  1. "Picking up my stick and preparing to poke!"

Because Republicans and NeoCons have touted abstinance as the only solution to teenage s*x and it obviously doesn't work...even for the movement's leaders. While most parents advocate and hope for abstinance, it obviously isn't the solution to the issue of teenage s*x. Refusing to educate teens on s*x creates problems for society and for the teens.

"Was that as good for you as it was for me?"

  2. Because of the open stench of hypocrisy that seems to surround Palin, from her questionable qualifications, to her political background not matching her personal statements.

The RNC's spokespeople have decided to state that criticism on Palin based on her lack of difficult political experience is invalid and that it should be more about "character". Now Palin's character is questionable.

Palin's position is as a staunch supporter of abstinence-only education. She also has openly tried to court so-called "PUMA" voters with her backstory as a home-spun "hockey mom" and tried to ply "family values" voters with her backstory as a mother of five who only went into government to apply her personal values to the corrupt government in Alaska.

Obviously, her daughter having a baby out of wedlock at the age of seventeen both undermines statements of values, her backing of abstinence-only training as effective, and calls to question how motherly she's been since she turned to politics.

Personally, I think its relevant more as a factor in McCain's vetting process and questions of Palin's selection as vote-pandering rather then as a critique of Palin's identity politics.

  3. How do you know what ALL dems. believe. This is a women who wants to control what others daughters do. If someone is in a really bad situation & they don't have the support her family has she wants to tell that girl she can't go to a dr. & have an abortion she is stuck with suicide, coat hanger, back ally abortion or having a job she can not possibly take care. Sarah's judgment came back on her. Just like th people who prayed Obama's convention speech would get rained out.

  4. Democrats don't think bringing children into the world is a bad thing either, they simply give the choice to the mother. Roe v. Wade determined that.

Some women don't want to have children and some teenagers don't either (seriously...I don't think anyone believes that Bristol Palin made the decision to keep the baby, her parents did.). Does that mean they're bad people? No. In various situations people choose to have abortions. I'd hate to be a kid my parents never wanted, especially if my parents didn't hide their feelings very well.

The reason the Democrats are touting this in the Conservatives' direction is because Conservatives work to preach things that inevitably lead to teenage pregnancy (i.e abstinance only s*x education, using religion to preach not to have s*x) when really, parents need to be talking to their kids about s*x and contraceptives. It's pretty clear that the Palin's don't believe in contraceptives (A baby at 44, Geez!). Parents need to be more active about their childrens' sexual education and even provide safe s*x to them if they must.

I do think touting this issue isn't the best strategy for Democrats, however. The thing is though. the Palin's lied about their daughter having mono to the school she went to in order to hide this fact and like all things in politics, it's the lying that bothers people.

I personally think this situation is hilarious. It's probably Palin's worst nightmare. Having a teenage daughter pregnant is one thing, having it thrown all over the public is another.

  5. Because they see a splinter in Palins daughters eye while over looking the beam in their eye Matthew 7:3-5

  6. the overriding issue here is that killing a baby is not the answer.  striving for the ideal situation IS and treating your family with love and support is critical.

  7. Dont you get it? Ill explain from a liberal point of view. First its her private business and decision NOT OURS OR THE MEDIA.. that girl isnt running for office.

Two.. the republican parties shove the RIGHT TO LIFE down everyones throat.. so in a moral majority lifestyle that young lady shouldnt be having s*x to GET PREGNANT.

Judging her and making her feel bad is the edict of the republican party...thus they want to make the decisions for her and other girls like her, rather than she making the decision about her own situation.

Its not a good thing for a 17 yr old to marry and its not a good thing to have another baby up for adoption.

Teaching responsibility, proper USE Of birth control , ACCESS TO BIRTH CONTROL.. freedom and privacy to USE BIRTH CONTROL is what should be occuring.

Its not our business that she uses the pill , condoms or what ever.

Republicans are taking the TEACHING OF responsibility out of the schools, removing the funding from places like Planned Parenthood or programs like it that help young girls make these decisions.

Denial of Abortion services for those who DO choose and have taken us BACKWARDS , not forward in procreation and responsibility.

I lived in the 60s, 70, 80 and 90s.. We are going backwards and its a BAD BAD THING..

    VOTE DEMOCRATIC.. lets move forward..

And to think condoms cost $5.00 or could have been FREE TO that girl from planned parenthood or other programs like it.. but she and probably the govt has to pay to support a child having a baby.

  8. I just think that it is ironic that the far right take hard stands on abortion and g*y marriage, but blow off an out of wedlock pregnancy as okay.  My bible says s*x outside of marriage is a big no no...I just don't get the rationale.

  9. For one thing , I thought that was what the conservative republicans was all about. Seems to me they would have done a better back ground check on her before sending her to try to win the VP spot , I think they screwed up big time, I think its going to back fire on the dirty old man. not mention has anyone told her yet what the VP does yet ?

  10. well, if they think these attacks are helping Obama, they are sadly mistaken. In fact, they may be losing a few from it.

  11. What I'm getting tired of is republicans poking sticks at liberals about the abortion issue. Not all liberals are the same. I'm a democrat and I don't believe abortion is right. I feel the whole Roe vs Wade thing is nothing more than the government saying that it's ok to commit cold-blooded, pre-meditated murder.

  12. lack of morals will do that to a person. The forget that Obama was born out of wed lock.

  13. She's only 17.  Why dont YOU get it?

  14. hypocrisy.  the democratic party is the party of s****s and social deviants, so they should embrace palin's daughter as one of their own.

  15. She is 17, and her mother is supports abstinence only s*x education. The fact that her daughter is pregnant before leaving high school  is not married, and has obviously had unprotected s*x is proof that abstinence only education must not work.

  16. It appears as though the democrats are the intolerant ones when it comes to women's rights, or at least the rights of conservative women.

And it's not just here on Y/A.  Newsweek Magazine, the Washington Post and the New York Times, all open advocates for Obama and the liberal agenda, are running editorials tomorrow using the Palin family situation to criticize her and promote the liberal agenda.

This will backfire, though.  Americans are majority forgiving and understanding and respectful of families on issues of motherhood and children.
