Why don't the Florida Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays have better fan support when Florida cont.?

Im a Marlins fan. I go to almost every game.Oh and that guy that said Marlins rank 15th in TV rating is wrong ... Marlins rank 7th in TV rating  ;) hey just wait till marlins get their own stadium in 2010... :) i cant wait.

florida isn't a baseball state. Plus florida plays outdoors in heat and humidity. and the ballpark they play in sucks.

Because the Marlins have a cheap owner, Jeff Loria, and the Tampa Bay Rays are starting to build a fan base. I am not from the Tampa area, but I am a Rays fan. No I am not a bandwagoner, because I have been a fan since 2005, when they were a losing franchise.

Because baseball isnt the most popular thing when it comes to Florida. Most people think of beaches, big towns like Miami, and Orlando, Florida where Disney World is. Also they havent really made the biggest name for themselves and they are starting to build a fan base as they get better. When i watch those games on t.v. (expecially the Marlins games) i dont really see a whole lot of fans and a whole lot of support.

My conclusion is just that Florida isnt known for there great baseball. But hopefully that can change as both these teams get better.

Actually, the marlins TV ratings ranks about 15th of major league baseball telecasts. The only reason why stadium attendance is low is because of terrible, unpredictable weather it's rainy and it's hot but what people that aren't marlin fans don't know is that.. there are people watching on their television sets rooting for the fish, just not at the stadium. The Rays have a less of TV ratings but no one wants to go to run down Tropicana field nor do Marlins fans want to go to a less than intimate football stadium.
