because they are smart.

glitter is pretty dangerous if they were to get a piece in one of their eyes they could get a corneal abrasion.

The Chinese girls had big globs of glitter in their hair and barrettes that did not match their uniforms. Their eyeshadow also did not match their uniforms. To be honest, that made them look very unprofessional and young.

Olympians should look mature and professional because generally speaking that is what they are. All of the girls from the United States wore natural looking makeup and barely-noticeable barrettes. Therefore, the United States' female gymnasts looked mature, professional and ready to compete, unlike their rivals, the Chinese.

Most of them don't have glittery makeup fyi. It was blue opaque eyeshadow. Not the best color for them. But yes I like to be technical.

And nah, the US team only needs mascara and such.

Edit: Unfortunately, CBC only showed the US and Chinese as well! I really wanted to see other countries.

Because the US team are a bunch of lazy overweighted ugly arses, they got up too late and didn't have time for that.

Honestly, just about EVERY woman gymnast was wearing glitter. But I suppose you didn't know because NBC probably only showed you the US and the Chinese
