  1. Well your question is basically answered by every one else, have yo seen how much strength is needed on the pommel horse/rings? The women's gymnastics is mostly graceful, while the men's is about strength. The girl's don't have those strong upper body muscles that are needed for the rings/pommel horse, unlike the men.

  2. Never noticed that before

men have more upper strength you can notice on pommel horse and rings you have to have tons of upper strength

  3. Because they do balance beam instead. Women don't have enough upper body strength for rings or pommel horse.

  4. Men and women have separate sets of events in gymnastics, mostly because (as someone above me said) men's gymnastics focuses on strength, while women's also looks for balance and (for lack of a better word) grace.

Men's events: floor, rings, vault, horizontal/high bar, parallel bars, pommel horse.

Women's events: floor, beam, vault, uneven bars.

  5. alot of girls don't have the upper body strength so it's really hard

  6. Same reason that the men don't do uneven bars or balance beam.  It's a difference in how the bodies are.

  7. You have to have immense upper body strength to compete in those. And genetically women are not as strong as men.

    Edit: Good answer Foxy

  8. rings and pommel horse are designed for MEN with very lean muscle and testosterone. teenage girls just are genetically not able to have bulging muscles. but women do have the uneven bars in which they excel.

  9. They do not have the same type of upper body strength as the men.
