im a kiwi and I dont want england to win for the good of the game because they will adopt the attitude when they again perform poorly between now and 2011 WC that its fine to lose and sometimes very poorly, its the world cup that matters! and it will take even more meaning out of test matches after what the WC tournament has done since it became the focal point

How on earth have England been 'disgraceful' champions for the last four years?  How many times have you heard of one of their players getting drunk and smashing things up; hitting people in bars; belting their partner etc. et.c  I hardly think that playing a brand of rugby that some people find boring can redner them disgraceful.  If someone wins an olympic gold but then doesn't win anything esle in a championship does that mean they are disgraceful?  Oh yes, of course it will do if they're English.  However to answer your question - there are scores of kiwis who would be more than happy to see England retain the Cup - doesn't mean they're going to set the world alight for the next 4 years just means they won the cup!!

Yeah the riddler kinda said it.

There is a mutual respect between NZ and RSA because we both know that in any given test it could go ether way.

The Africans respect NZ because we both play a lot of rugby, but also they have actually played NZ in a WC final - Unlike England - who have never beaten NZ at any WC but are quite comfortable to point out how badly we play WC rugby !

But to be honest I don't really care who wins. I just want to watch rugby excellence because that's the only way the game will grow.

because english rugby is ponsy slow and boring just like evry other english thing there rugby is more of a team of fattys lying all over the ball and kicking three pointers

The Springboks have been the most consistent of the 2 teams, they've been playing brilliant, superb Rugby.

For the good of Rugby..The Springboks should win, they definitely deserve too.

1) They won it last time - give someone else a shot!

2) They were bad winners last time... carried on as if they had saved the world, parades, SIR Clive etc

3) Englands game plan = Yawn.  We don't (often) play boring rugby in NZ, and don't like watching boring rugby.  We consider boring rugby to be full of 3 pointers and no tries... need i say more?

4) SA is more exciting.  They DO score tries!!

5) We love to hate the poms!!  Its just a love/hate relationship like the one we have with Aussie.  Its just in the blood - we can't help it!!

I'm a Kiwi, and agree with most of the comments here. England have done little over the last four years and when the Lions came on tour it was a shambles for them. The NZ Maori dealt  to them. Frankly they are BORING. BORING BORING. I love watching and attending (off to Eden park now to watch Auckland beat Wellington in the Air New Zealand final) but England? Na!

One of the main reasons would be that New Zealand hasn't won for the rwc for 20 years--Yes they do play well in the tri nations and were great in the lions tour and so on as they always like to point out when they dont win in the rwc--But unfortunately when it comes to the crunch of world cup rugby they just cant hold there own, why? who knows. and so they like to blame everyone and anything ie the ref, Graham Henry, the practice balls etc. It is probably a pride thing. For some reason Kiwis dont like the English and it really doesnt matter how England played, they would find something wrong with it. Quite Sad really.

Because they are boring players, using spoiling tactics. There are many teams in the world who are well above the english. Look what Argentina did to france and think what SA is going to do to dem english

The subject is rugby not behaviour of the individuals keep to the subject. It is not only the boring brand of rugby England plays but their winning record over the last four years. That is definitely a ‘disgrace’. To play this boring style of rugby just to win a tournament is also a disgrace, we all know this brand wins games in fact this style of rugby was common forty years ago. Rugby has moved on and is a very exciting spectator sport in the southern hemisphere. The analogy of Olympic gold is ridiculous, totally different type of competition. For a start the officials and organisation are more transparent and therefore fairer for all participants. Check your facts, I think you’ll find belting partners was a rugby league incident, different game altogether. Yes there are only about four score of kiwis backing England.
