  1. I'm really not sure, it WOULD be nice eye candy lol

  2. Here is a slide show with pictures and captions about why the beach volleyball uniforms are used.

  3. I know. I was like WTH!? They are so covered, they might as well wear sweatshirts and running pants.

  4. Honestly, does a man really look s**y in a speedo?  C'mon, give me a break.  We look like sissies in those things.  Women want men to look masculine (straight ones anyway), and here in the U.S., men wear board shorts.  That's the conventional wear. Plus, the female players are obviously comfortable wearing the bikinis (as they should be with their very athletic, toned, bodies), and I can guarentee you, you wouldn't get a single guy to wear a speedo.

  5. luckly i dont want men's i watch womens :)

  6. So they don't get sands inside their pants or shorts.

  7. Lol!! I guess it's a "feminine" thing for the men to wear...I have no clue though.

  8. LOL, you know the Greeks did not wear anything in the ancient Olympics.

The athletes usually competed naked, not only as the weather was appropriate but also as the festival was meant to celebrate, in part, the achievements of the human body. Olive oil was occasionally used by the competitors, not only to keep skin smooth but also to provide an appealing look for the participants. Competitors may have worn a kynodesme to restrain the p***s.

  9. It's all done for the MALE viewer -- which the advertiser wants, etc. etc.

Funny thing is, they discovered that most people watching are women and their young children.. so, oops! so much for all the car ads, finance/insurance spots, business class travel ads, etc. etc. (egg on faces of NBC execs, can you say: angry/negotiated "bonus ads" for Fall programming?)

Back to your Q.. the decisons are simply to titilate the male viewer by gymnastics, divers, beach volleyball, track.. and the outfits get tighter & smaller ever 4 years. (shhhhhhhhhh) It's a dirty little secret, that everyone can see... sort of like how the Cooks at your favorite expensive restaurant are actually undocumented Mexicans (who must be the BEST cooks on Earth, right?)... take a peek in there, someday.

The men? since this is done for Men, by Men and there's Men at NBC walking around selling tv ad space/time, going to parties in China right now, holding their gin/tonics.. that will never happen.

They only do this for events they know.. are g*y-viewer events (shhhhhhhh).. like the Rings, Swimming (h**l-loo Mr. Phelps), gymastics, diving, synchronized anything..

  10. I agree with female athletes when they say that they feel sorry for the guys who wear a lot and their movements get impaired.

I think no speedos are worn because the baggage might wobble too much causing embarrassment or discomfort or the speedo might even fall off.

  11. Because that's gross.

  12. Maybe because most mens don't like to wear them.

  13. cause they dont wanna look like jackass's  the same reason women dont wear t shirts and board shorts

  14. They arnt allowed to, just like the women arnt allowed to wear anything different. The women say its easier with less though.

Men cant because they need somewhere to wear their name. Dont think they will volunteer to have it tattood on their back :P

  15. Because it's Beach Volleyball.  It's Volleyball at the beach.  I don't know what kind of beaches you've been to, but guys usually wear shorts to the beach not speedos.  Ladies usually wear bikinis to the beach, guys usually wear shorts.  Thus, the uniforms for the event.

  16. that would make a man like me not watch.furthermore i guess a womens body has more beauty to it

  17. You're right, they wear entirely too much.
