Why don't the pros use a golf glove when they are putting?

the are so good every bit of touch matters. i personally dont care to take my glove on an off.

I'm no pro, but the glove makes my hand sweat.  I like to let my hand have a breather between holes.  Also, there's no better feeling between skin and grip when putting.  When the weather isn't so hot, I prefer no glove.  When it's hot as h**l you got to do what you got to do.  Hard to grip a club when your hands are sweaty.

Feeling is better when taking off the glove on the putter, but also you won't get that much one white and one dark hand the next day.

With the glove on whilst putting will somehow make one feels that he needs to hit the ball harder (i.e. much firmer). Without the glove he will feel more at ease and relaxed to get the feel of his swing plane, length and strength of his swing arc, especially for distances of 10feet and below. Anyway, that's how I feel about it.

They want maximum feel in the hands for putting.  The glove is effective to improve grip on full swings, not needed on a putting stroke.

To get a feel for how far the ball goes for how hard they hit it. Most amatuers would benefit more from improving distance control than aim unless their aim is really bad.

The correct answer is feel, but this can be argued. Take a look at Jack Nicholas, he never took off his glove. If he thought you would have better feel without it, im sure he would have taken it off.

very few do, but by taking the glove off, you increase feel. They will also take off their gloves sometimes around the green, once again, for better feel

For putting, it not necessary to using glove or not...  Most of the pros use glove when they are putting it because they like it... they get used to it and they have more confidence without glove.

if you more confidence with glove, then use your glove...  if you more confidence without glove, then dont use your glove..

What I think is more important, always consistant.  If you like to wear glove for a putting, then use your glove every time you do putting... on other hand, if you like without glove, then always take it off before you do putting.

A few do. Most believe that they get better feel without a glove. Plus, putting is a light stroke, so the extra grip and protection provided by the glove are not needed.
