Its weird how most people don't believe they exist and those who do believe they are all made of lead, search the web for fake pound coin and their is nothing on the Royal mint website about it, which is strange because once you have learned how to spot them its obvious, I work at a supermarket and I reject them most days, when I start work most days I would say I find an average of three in my till, some of them come in sealed bags from the change company now that has to be illegal!

  1. It's hardly worth worrying about it, I mean it's not the crime of the century (albeit totally illegal).. I mean, how much effort goes into faking a pound?  Surely it's not worth anyones effort on a grand scale is it?

  2. i havent noticed one. what the metal inside a fake coin

  3. Lets face it, if you are given a fake pound coin you are bound to try to pass it off. The legality of it is it is illegal to knowingly use counterfeit money knowingly.

  4. The Royal Mint don't actually have any responsibility for coinage in circulation.  They merely manufacture it.

It is like blaming the Daily Mirror for the crimes it reports on!

The responsibility for investigating forgery lays with the Police, and since we all know that the British Police are as pointless as they are gutless....I suggest you just get used to counterfeit coins being a part of daily life in Britain.

    ...Like robbery...and violence...and fraud...and theft...and .....................
