I heard they never clean the big blankets at those hotels... Why would they do that? That's nasty! Who knows what kind of germs people got all over that bed and who knows what they did in those beds!

  1. I used to clean rooms at hotels, and for some stupid reason they only seem to clean them like once a month...we used to have special orders on our checklists to remove the comforters and throw them down with the sheets we stripped off of the beds. I agree it's gross....I rarely even sit on them and always take it off or fold it way down when I stay at a hotel...I think the bigger, better, nicer hotel chains might use better methods of cleaning though..but am not sure..you know like the ones that don't use the heavy duty typoe comforters and just have a thinner bedspread on the beds might do it more often...there's not enough time while doing hotel rooms to actually remove and replace the comforters after every guestroom has checkouts.

  2. eww...gross

  3. We don't know what people do! Think of the restaurant workers who don't wash their hands! Just bathe regularly.

  4. idealy, all bedding, including the comforter is cleaned after each guest....

but there are some less then honest people and thus, i'm sure they go uncleaned at some hotelts... along with sheets and maybe even towels...

  5. well thats what tax payers or paying for big filthy blankets in top knotch hotels..... sadly

  6. Yea there cheap b******s all you could now someone might spermed all over tha blanket

  7. Yep that is very nasty! The hotels are saving on water so they're not washing the comforters or changing sheets or towels as often anymore.

  8. I wish I knew... but I try to stay in hotels that I know have duvet covers over the big down comforter.  They definitely wash the duvet cover after each guest; although they do not wash the actual duvet.  At least it is better than nothing!

  9. Please do not remind me. I have trouble with that too. Maybe if enough people complain, than something will be done. I bring my own when I can.

  10. they dont clean them..and its because they are to big and to much to hassle with

  11. because it cost them extra money to get them cleaned

  12. They clean ALL of the linen off of the bed, including the blankets and spread or comforter and wash them ... then they go on a shelf because the beds are made up with clean sheets and blankets off the shelves.  They even 'clean' the pillows at least once a month, and use 'spray disinfectant' on them between times.  Sorry, I've worked in hotels and motels, and NEVER do they 'leave the dirty blankets' on the bed!

  13. They do clean them. They repace them every time with a clean one.

  14. Actually we do clean them.

Along with the sheets and pillow cases and pillows

    ...so on and so forth.

Or at least we do at my job.

    the Super 8 Motel =)

  15. ewwwyy i didnt know thattt...they prolly just dont clean the big blanketss at badd hotelss but at good hotelss like rich 1s they prolly doo =]]]

  16. I thought they did!!!!

  17. actually they do.But they only wash it after one guest.Like when your staying there they wont wash the bigger blankets. But when u leave and a new guest comes they wash it.so to answer your question:They just wash it when a new guest comes.

    I hoped i helped you :)

  18. I use to work at a very Nice motel in MI and I know that even there they only washed the comforters about once a month and sometimes not even that. I think one of the reasons they do that is b/c it takes up alot of time and the whole washer. I also did the laundry at this motel. See you can fill a front loader washer with about 6-7 rooms worth of flat sheets and fitted sheets and pillow sheets, but when it comes to the blankets, you can only put about 1 blanket in at a time. So My advise is when you make your reservations at the hotel, either ask them to wash the blankets, or if they don't have a non-smoking room available, tell them you'll take a smoking room, but that you have allergies and that you have to have all blankets washed. Hotels & motels even have a machine ( can't remember what its really called. ) that removes all cigerette smoke out of the room. All they have to do is plug in this small machine and flip the switch and let it sit for like 20-30 mins. It's like a smog machine or something. That or remember to bring your own blanket when you travel.

  19. Some do.  I work in the office at a hotel and I know that we do.  We have duvets here so everytime someone checks out the duvet gets changed by the housekeeping staff.  And as far as any other blankets they are also washed. Sounds like you need to stay at better hotels

Matter of fact our blankets are washed and put into a protective plastic cover.

  20. i know!!!!! isnt that grosssssss! so many ppl have slept in that bed and down other stuffff  **if u no wat i mean** haha and yeah but i cnt answer ur question tho... sryyyyy

  21. Just the top one cause it is so big they wash it after like 3 or 4 people cause it used to much water and only like 2 can fit in the washer.

  22. The clean the comforters, just not during your stay. They clean them for the next person though.

  23. i wish they did, honestly i stayed at many hotels in my life and trust me some i was afraid to even sleep!! they are lazy, maybe the budget is crappy, maybe cleaning crew SUCKS! many sleepless nights..

  24. I'd say it costs too much to clean them regularly.

I have been in many hotels and I have never seen them change the comforter. I'm sure it happens but not every time.

  25. Well, you've heard wrong most likely. It's a state law that they require you to wash them.

  26. Sorry to break the news to some of you, but it is NOT a law to clean the blankets and not all hotels clean then every time they are used.   I worked front desk at a hotel for a few years and they only cleaned them once in awhile.  I didn't clean rooms but I had to do the laundry on my shifts and I rarely seen blankets or comforters.

My advise, take them off the bed when you get there and throw them in the corner.  Bring your own blanket.  Or ask for an extra one.  They will grab one from the back room or the storage closet and those are the clean ones.

  27. Well, that's why there are sheets.

It's usually thought that you sleep underneath the sheet and the fitted sheet, rather than between the comforter and the sheet.

I know, it's gross, but some hotels are actually beginning to do both, and some hotels already, if lucky, do.

And they do wash them, but not daily. They wash them about twice a month.

  28. I've heard that too, and it's disgusting.  I personally have been a party to the depositing of materials on a hotel comforter that no one else should have to touch.  If a nicer hotel line would advertise that they wash ALL the bedcovers, every time, I would only go there.

  29. Money is the reason. Motels cut costs and cleaning is just one of the methods.

BTW: Don't drink from those glasses either.
