your head or body onthat's hard in an accident?

I know they make joystick cars for disabled persons, where you can brake, accelerate, steer, signal, all with one hand. Why can't they do that and make cars much safer (instead of airbags which are also prone to some problems)?

Can you have a car outfitted this way, or buy one this way?

  1. We have plenty of people that cannot drive a regular vehicle the way that it was meant to be driven and now you what to change everything, it would lead to more accidents due to the laziness of the driver........

  2. If you had something all cushioned like that and say you got in an accident with a big metal 3 ton SUV your soft and cushion car would get crushed by the SUV. Metal holds up better, you may hit your head but I would rather get broken bone or so than probably killed. There are also safty regulations that every car must pass in order to be in production so cushion car would not be that reinforced. You can get a car outfitted with a disabled set up but I think it is much easyer just pushing gas and brake with one foot and controle with your arms. Much less to think about.
