Alright, I'm sure Diana Princess of Wales was truly a super duper person. But why is it that whenever i turn on the TV, there's always a new program on about DIANA!?!?! Honestly, someone tell me what she's done for humanity!!!! Please!!! More than a decade after her death, they're still talking about her!!! Saying how amazing and mysterious her life was and drilling it down my throat!!! What's with this obsession with Diana?!?!?!?!

  1. She was hot and led a fascinating life.  Dying young was a really good career move, too...like James Dean, etc.

  2. You're hearing more about it now because we are closing in on the 10th anniversary of her death (08.31.1997).

  3. Well, she did die for a really sad reason.....:(

  4. I think it must be due to obsessions and selfishness. Ten years ago so many of those who will not let objections to their preferences, were only teenagers so have fixed minds. The more established ladies stay at home and live their lives through the romance books and think she was a princess, when she only married a prince. They feel their lives threatened. I am like you. She has gone so why will they not let her go. The obsession of Diana would be a good physiology study

  5. No one is shoving this down your throat. You can always change the channel if you don't want to see the show...but in answer to your question:  she did a lot of good things to make humanity better.

Back in the days when AIDS was first learned about there was a lot of fear regarding the disease and discrimination against the people who had it.  Back then people didn't even want to be in the same ROOM with an AIDS victim.  Well, Princess Diana was one of the first public personas to address the issue of showing compassion to AIDS victims. Despite being advised not to do it, she held hands with and hugged people who had this disease. This contact that the Princess had with these folks helped other people change their opinions about people who have HIV/AIDS

She also brought attention to the people losing limbs because of land mines.

She tried to do good for those less fortunate than herself, and she did this by listening to people, visiting hospitals, auctioning off her dresses for charities for women with breast cancer.  She was involved in about 150 different charities with causes ranging from child well being to homelessness.

The only "obsession" out there regarding the princess are amongst those jealous and spiteful ones who want to cast a negative light on her, and desecrate her memory.  It's a shame that they can do nothing but disrespect this woman on the 10th anniversary of her death.  Truly a shame.

The reason why Princess Diana is still talked about 10 years after her death is because like it or not, she really did make a difference in this world...despite her own personal troubles, heartbreaks, mistakes, and self-doubt...and she did it with grace and charm.  Indeed, I think some of these current self-absorbed celebutantes like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Nichole Richie and others could learn a lesson or two from the late Princess's life about grace under pressure.

  6. The reason why Diana is everywhere at the moment is because it IS the TEN Year anniversary ... IE she hasn't been dead for MORE than a decade...  it's considered a BIG anniversary,

BUT hey .. that aside .. I agree with you .. Time to let her Rest In Peace.

  7. People will watch and TV will play/replay anything a few million people will watch.  She was a Princess, every little girl's dream.

  8. I think she was a good person. She opened up alot of important issues that people would ignore, but let her rest in peace! Continue with her cause. That's what should be happening.

  9. It is the 10th anniversary of her death.  There have long been questions as to IF her death was an accident.  She herself said that she would die in a car crash because that is how "they" took care of things.

She supported many charities that most other people shunned - aids, land mines for starters.

Actually touching those poor afflicted people.  She was compassionate - how many of the royals were into that?

If her death was truly an accident then why are there still so many unanswered and inconsistent questions about this tragedy?

  10. Isn't this right about the 10th anniversary of her death now?  Give it a few weeks, it'll all go away for a while again.

  11. She had a Cinderella story, and its human nature to fascinate over such.

  12. great question, I'm going to star you!

  13. I lived in England foe 3 1/2 years and they don't talk about her much in England anymore

  14. I totally agree with you. Why don't they just let her rest in peace? One star for you!!!

  15. Many reasons:

    1) Obsessed royalists

    2) Hype

    3) Money/fame for the royal family

    4) to make the royal family look good within the media

Truth is, Diana was no different than anyone else who helped the poor, Mother Teresa did much much, much much more for the poor yet wheres all her praise?
