Question:

Why don't they have discrete LED lights in the frames of glasses, to allow you to read in the dark?

It would be so easy to build them into the frame of the glasses, and have very thin batteries in the frame too. Press a button and it gives you a little glimmer of light forward to illuminate a dark notice or see the latch on a gate. Solar chargeable.

  1. Used to have them at the raves, they were hilarious. Have a look on e.bay. Or a novelty site.

  2. Sounds like a little research to make the light not so heavy is all you need before you can get a patent and put out a product. That is a really wonderful idea. It could be the next infomercial phenomenon.

    Good Luck!!!

  3. this would be incredibly expencive. the led's arelikely to cause glare or th light could reflect off your glasses into your eves. anyway... it wold make you look like a darlek

  4. Too heavy.  You'd be suprised how little weight you need to add to a pair of glasses to make them very uncomfortable.

You can get glasses specifically with small torches built in - and I'm sure that they are using LEDs in them, but it's too much weight for everyday glasses...

  5. good idea but maybe a bit gimmicky. glasses can be a style accessory and people respond best to simple stylish objects
