The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning a few times but no sirens came on. Why is it that some places have irens and others don't? Those sirents would make my storm videos better.

  1. No i dont think most places in florida have them. I was in st.petersburg florida while a tropical system was just off shore and we were getting those bands of heavy rain and we stay on the beach at a condo. and we were watching the news and they said a waterspout has just moved on shore right where we were and they issued a tornado warning i kept waiting to hear the sirens but never heard them i wasl ike where are those sirens. Yeah i dont think florida has them.

  2. Florida is far from "Tornado Alley" where the nation's most severe tornadoes usually occur. Tornadoes in Florida most often occur as by-products of hurricanes. Thus, Florida does not have tornado sirens such as those found in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas which sound to warn sleeping citizens of approaching tornadoes.
