Question:

Why don't they make racing and fighting games like they used to? Is it worth it to buy PS3 since I got a 360?

  1. I think it's worth it to get a PS3, they have their minds set on the future, not just the now. They have a solid lineup of games coming out, such as White Knight, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, and also have some great games like Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune to list a few.

And one of the things about the PS3 that's better is the fact that it has blu-ray, it's one of the most future proof blu-ray players. If you bought a first gen Blu-ray, it probably only plays blu-ray 1.0. Since then there have been 1.1 and 2.0 (Blu-Ray Live) which accesses online. So unless your Blu-ray player has a way to access the internet and some internal memory for an update, you won't be able to update and play, the PS3 can keep future updates going.

Also another good thing about Blu-Ray is it offers more space for game developers, which means they'll be able to put great graphics on the disc without having to compress it to fit it on discs. A new came coming out, Rage, will have better graphics on the PS3 just due to the fact that Blu-Ray holds FAR more space than the regular and even dual layer DVD's. And with Microsoft's licensing fees, games that are more than two discs are costly, so they'll either need to cut back the graphics or they may have to pass the cost on to the consumer, unless they have to rescind the fees due to not developers making games for it cause of it.

Also there's going to be Home, which is free and will be a huge avatar based social networking thing, and Life With Playstation, which was supposed to be released, but delayed, which will offer weather around the world on a 3D globe, and also news stories from around the world.

Also if you like racing games, Motorstorm is actually entertaining. The first level is slow, but once you get past you'll have a blast. Then there's also Burnout, and they've released a lot of new features for it in the last two months (I believe), such as adding new bikes, adding weather, adding nighttime as well. You can read about them in the 2nd and 3rd links in the sources.

  2. For the Sega Saturn, your best bet is to check Ebay.

If you own the Xbox 360, try to check the Marketplace for Xbox Live arcade games.

You will find the Sega Saturn Version of Castlevania Symphony of the Night there.

Or if you like Shoot-Em Ups you could try Ikaruga, the successor of Radiant Silvergun on the Saturn.

Also there is Soul Calibur 2 available for download, that was on the Sega Dreamcast and PS2. An excellent fighting game.

As for the suggestion of buying the PS3:

If you need a cheap BluRay movie player go ahead.

However in regards to games, you are better off with the Xbox 360.

And the one regarding the John Carmack interview that Rage is going to look better on the PS3 because of BluRay:

Please don't take the quote out of context.

Mr. Carmack said, that the Xbox 360 is better than the PS3 in regards of graphics hardware.

However, they want to compress the graphics to fit the game on 2 DVDs instead of 3. And therefore they want to compress the textures more wich will make some textures look less sharp than compared to the PS3.

So keep your Xbox 360 and know, that you still have the currently best console on the market.

  3. ps3 is better

  4. ebay

  5. I [personally think 360 is better. But If u want a playstation. Then get a psp, cuz they're BOMB... So yeah. Thats my opinion. And I need more Mario games. ^_^
