  1. Herbivores have the most efficient digestive system and so produce the cleanest  milk.. Omnivores and carnivores have  a whole lot more problematic things to deal with. You'll know a piggery from many km's away

Apart from hygiene yield, temperament and teat size would also be factors.

If you've only drunk cows milk from a supermarket make an effort yo try the real thing. It is a completely different thing.

  2. Milk flavor has a lot to do with the animals diet. Pigs eat slop and thus their milk would take like c**p. Human milk is palataple because we birth with it and are used to its taste. Cows are grazers and grasses and grains have little or no effect on the milks taste.

  3. They are more difficult to restrain and they have several more teats than other milking animals, such cows, making it difficult to milk them.

  4. from Ask A Farmer:

"Sow milk is very nutritious and high in fat content. Sows produce a large amount of milk, providing a volume that is very similar to the production from cows. The reason that we do not milk pigs is because they are more difficult to restrain and they have several more teats than cows, making it difficult to milk them. "

    hope this helps!

  5. look what they eeat

  6. While there are a few of us that would totally love piggy butter and some fancy pig cheese, there’s quite a few reasons why we don’t have pig milk.

Personally, I don’t think there’s that many people that would want the job of manually milking a pig. While the do have nipples, they don’t have udders. Then there’s the fact that there’s no machine or technology for milking something with that many nipples. PIgs produce far less milk per day than a cow does, maybe 5x or so. And as it turns out, pigs cannot reproduce when they’re lactating, so that’s a problem for producers. I also think there’s some biblical problems with it as well. I just don’t see pig milk coming to market any time soon. Feh.

  7. Sadly I dont know why they dont milk pigs....but I wouldnt mind trying some and pigs cheese if they ever did.

When I first was asked to try goats milk and cheese, I took the same view as many of you on here and said "YUK" but after some considerable thought and time, I tried it and loved it. I now prefer goats cheese to cows.

We eat pig meat in many forms so what is so different about their milk?

  8. a mother pig can give may piggi at a time there is no spare milk for anyone else.what piglet will do,  no one has thought about that.

  9. By asking this question I can tell you have never been around a sow. A female pig will eat you up if you get close to her pigs or her. they are very protective.

  10. well dear the milk of the pigs..............never really thought about it. I am a lover of pork but drinking a pigs milk sounds nasty, h**l even the goat milk sounds nasty too

  11. They would if they'd land for two minutes!

    Pesky flying pigs.

  12. The only time I ever drank pigs milk the sow nearly dragged me to death.

  13. That would just ruin your back, but seriously; milk production is lower in pigs than in goats, they being the minimum worth bothering with. The most important reason though, would be that there is a product which has an untried untrue historical use for food products, like western cultures eating bugs. You have to be pretty hungry. Because of their supposed lack of cleanliness (pigs are actually cleaner than a lot of animals as they won't soil their nest) anything on the bottom of a pig is forbidden territory, not to mention just difficult to deal with. I have a feeling there are even more issues when it comes to content, but I never looked at research. Might make a good cheese.

  14. I stopped drinking animal milk all together.. I am now a Soy Milk addict.. Expensive addiction since I drink a lot of it and it's also more expensive

  15. Euch!   If they did,would you drink it.I would'nt.

  16. Starting a large-scale hog dairy would mean inventing a whole new set of equipment for milking. Besides, can you imagine slapping a milking machine on an animal with eight or ten tiny little teats versus a cow with four BIG teats? It would be much more labor-intensive.

I don't think the public would buy that deal anyhow. Can you see Johnny? "Pig's milk? EWWWW!" About as exotic as I wanna get is goat's or sheep's milk.

  17. pass me another bottle of swine will you please, this one seems to be empty.
