...and just dye their heads day-glo green? They will be much easier to spot on the streets to keep our children safer.

  1. good question but I think cruel and unusual punishment may protect them... and also not giving them confidentiality. I know court cases are public knowledge but it's the same argument that we have for the red and yellow plates for DUIs (2nd offense or double the maximum on the first charge).

I want to say it goes along with the scarlet letter as well.

I am not in favor of child molesters or criminals at all (I work in law enforcement), but the public likes to take the law into their own hands and I think not having child molesters, etc stand out is for the best.

  2. "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."

    That is why.

Someone is working on an electronic monitoring system that is like an ankle bracelet that alerts if they get within a certain distance of a school or a child with a locator.

  3. The ACLU would go ballistic over this 'profiling' and 'privacy' rights issue.

  4. That's a good idea and send them to Utah as well

  5. Because they could easily dye it back.
