Why don't they tell the truth of what is going on about UFOs?

I am 17 and I am not a believer or a believer I just want the truth. Why don't the goverment tell what is going on and not try to cover it up.

Believe it when you see it. I saw a UFO visit Earth on a show called Beadles About years ago. This woman offered the aliens   a cup of tea when they landed in her back garden.

Now let's think logically about this. An alien civilization comes from billions of miles away (a few light-years, at the least), and arrives on Earth. If the occupants were smart enough to get here, wouldn't they want to contact the Earthlings somehow? Why would they just hang out in the Nevada desert? No, they'd want to make contact somehow, probably by radio waves.

OK, starting from there, why would the United States government be the only one to hear the messages? And what possible advantage would be to cover up such a message? Plus, word would leak out pretty quickly -- it always does -- and it would be all over the media in a moment.

I personally believe that life is probably out there -- too many stars, too many worlds to think otherwise. (Are we vain enough to think we're the only occupants of the entire universe?) The way to find them is to hear them through radio telescopes. We've only been able to listen to such broadcasts for about 50 years or so. That's a blink in terms of the size of the universe. We have to listen every so often; you never know what we might hear.

at the risk of sounding like a kook, yes i think there is other life out there .If you really think about it if there isn't any other life forms out there even with the billions of people on earth we are still alone and that's very scary to me. Then people say if there is life out there why don't they just show them selves,well would you trust a species who still cant get along with each other simply because of race? we are to them very primitive.

They are very real. No joke. Count the stars you see at night, you can't count them all. By the laws of mathematical probability, there are millions of earth-like planets in this galexy alone. That's assuming that earth-like planets are the only ones that can produce any life.

Einstien said something like this just before he died.  If he believed in life elsewhere, then that is good enough for me.

If you were from an advanced alien civilization capable of intergalactic space travel and you had intercepted radio and tv broadcasts from the planet Earth, would you (a) stay away and make sure Earth never discovered you, (b)  visit farms in the midwest and carve designs in the crops, then leave, or (c) disguise yourself as a human, become a gold glove first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals and hit everything in sight.  

I say either (a) or (c).  If you answered (b), there is a new X-Files movie coming out that might be fun.

they won't tell us because of the severe panic and chaos, probably, who knows what sort of things people will do when put under pressure? specifically people who believe in aliens, or people who strongly disagreed about aliens, would go crazy on learning that they were real! they could even go to the extremes of murder and stuffs.

& let's be quite honest with this -

where is the actual evidence that if aliens exist, they'll want to hurt us?

and if they do, where's the evidence that they have super high tech weaponry?

even if all of that is true, and aliens do come and kill us all, we were all going to die anyway, sooner or later.

and will they even speak our language?

who knows, maybe fast forward a thousand years into the future and seeing aliens around will be the norm.

we really just have to take life as it comes.

The truth about UFO's cannot be revealed by any government because that would mean that they exist, and if they do exist, governments will have to admit they are powerless to do anything about them.

It's not a matter of believing or not believing, it's a matter of evidential proof, which has been accumulating for centuries, and which governments presume from their positional authority will scare the rest of us to death, which is why such loud scoffing from those who are indeed scared to death, to belittle those who've witnessed the evidence.  Same scoffing as at sexual orientation, race, religion, age, gender...a matter of differing levels of evolutional progress.

Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that UFO's are real. Given the behavior of these hypothetical aliens, I think the only thing that is being covered up is that we are on some sort of intergalactic reality show called 'Make fun of humans'.

The government does tell the truth about UFOs.   "UFO" does not mean space alien - - it means any object up in the sky that has not been identified.   Most "UFOs" are later identified as ball lightning, distant images refracted by the atmosphere, weather balloons, or aircraft.   Some are never identified because there simply isn't enough information.

Have any of them been space aliens?   Definitely not.   That's a fun idea, and makes a great story for movies.   But, if you sit back and think about how implausible that is, that aliens would cross the vast distance of the universe only to hide themselves, I think you will agree that we haven't been visited.   I would encourage you to listen to the claims of the people who say they have seen space aliens - - not UFOs.   My impression of people who say they have seen space aliens is that they strike me as desperately unsuccessful people who are striving for attention.   I don't believe them.

Believe whatever you want, just be careful that you aren't believing something just because you want to believe it.   Above all else, to thine own self be true.

They are real.  Each year, thousands of UFOs are sighted in countries all over the Earth.  In the US the govt plays mind games and hides the truth.  People are much smarter than the govt.

i believe in ufo's but what they are or where they come from is a different matter. if alien's ( not mexican's ) do exist and their existence is being covered up by all the governments of the world the announcement would sent people into a panic.

what would it do to a belief in god or any higher entity? what would it do to the security of planet earth? if alien's have the technology and knowledge to get here what else are they capable of doing? not everybody could handle that. consider also that ufo's have been reported in about every country in the world, which government would make the profound announcement? i'd love to know but i don't believe we'll ever know unless one lands in a large city in the middle of the day.

There really isn't much to tell I don't think. Simply gov doesn't know everything there to know. The reason for cover up is legitimate since some UFO sightings involve secret military jets or weapons. New weapons stay secret until finish development.

i'm a believer, because i think there's something out there. but i also believe that if our government were to announce publicly that they'd been contacted by aliens, would most of us believe them? no. we'd think our government was crazy.
