  1. because it would attract to much attention and then it would get cut down.  they choose not to grow that tall.

  2. I didn't know they couldn't, but its possible that their comes a point where the weight of the tree and gravity balance out and the tree doesn't have the ability/strength to push upward.

  3. I think that if trees were left alone and had all the environmental needs then they would grow that big. Humans do not appreciate trees. People do not deserve them.I love trees. They r exquisite. I go walking daily and appreciate the trees. They r magestic. I hate people that cut down trees.

  4. thin atmosphere...probably not enough carbon dioxide up there for them

  5. Maybe because it is too cold, or too windy, or too dry?

  6. Actually 'trees' will grow above 12000' depending upon the latitude, the 'treeline' on the Himalaya's is around 14K feet, and in Mexico, about 13K '.  It is dependent upon latitude, rainfall and soil type, among other things.  See the table on Wikpedia. good luck

  7. i have no idea.

  8. Because there's not enough carbon dioxide for them to breathe at that altitutde

  9. idk id have to assume it would have to do with the drop in temperature or the lack of carbon monoxide at that altitude

  10. It would get too heavy at the top and fall over ...Duh

  11. Lack of atmosphere.

  12. Lack of atmosphere, not enough CO2, low pressure

  13. because they're stupid

  14. not enough oxygen to thrive

  15. Just like we need oxygen, trees need carbon dioxide to live.  At high altitudes, the atmosphere is very thin and there isn't much of it.  Also, high altitudes tend to be very cold, and trees don't grow well when it's too cold (they need to circulate water, which they can't if it's frozen).

  16. because it is beyond their capability, duh

why dont humans grow 15 feet?

  17. I thought that they do!

  18. cuz tree cant grow that much

  19. Not enough oxygen to sustain growth and life for a long period of time?

  20. I don't understand why there are so many nonsensical answers to a normal/serious question.

    You're asking about tree lines:

"The tree line or timberline is the edge of the habitat at which trees are capable of growing. Beyond the tree line, they are unable to grow due to inappropriate environmental conditions (usually cold temperatures, insufficient air pressure, or lack of moisture).

At the tree line, tree growth is often very stunted, with the last trees forming low, densely matted bushes. If it is caused by wind, it is known as krummholz formation, from the German for 'twisted wood'.

The tree line, like many other natural lines (lake boundaries, for example), appears well-defined from a distance, but upon sufficiently close inspection, it is a gradual transition. Trees grow shorter towards the inhospitable climate until they simply stop growing."

  21. Above around that elevation due to the atmosphere being light there is not sufficient CO2 for the tree to grow. Additionally, the weather itself is a factor, temperature, moisture, and snow cover prohibit tress from starting.

  22. the air there aint enuf carbon dioxide and possibly the temperature . . . . ps:  there are some dumb people answering this question for one plants put out oxygen not use it they use carbon dioxide, secondly the question relates to altitude no how tall the dam tree is and last but not least the dumb *** thing about seeds not blowing up god what a idiot lol

  23. thats the most interesting question ever, i really dont know, but that must be beacause the dont even exceed the 120 feet

    pfff

    have a nice day

  24. seeds never really blow UP so instead they can only blow up so high than fall back down again... i guess certain types could grow at that height if you carried a seed up there...

  25. because of the toxins and poisons in the air

  26. Thin air.
