Why don't we all just go for anarchy?

I mean, as much as we've screwed up.

The government doesn't seem to be helping with homeless people.

I'll believe that the government is helping when I see it.

  1. Do you understand the implications of an anarchy?

Hint - under an anarchy you would probably wind up as somebodies slave.

  2. Because the christian right doesn't allow such things.

  3. I don't believe you even know the meaning of the word.  According to the Merriam-Webster's Dictionary here is the definition of the word "Anarchy":

    anarchy

    One entry found.

    anarchy

    Main Entry: an·ar·chy

    Pronunciation: \ˈa-nər-kē, -ˌnär-\

    Function: noun

Etymology: Medieval Latin anarchia, from Greek, from anarchos having no ruler, from an- + archos ruler — more at arch-

    Date: 1539

1 a: absence of government b: a state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority c: a utopian society of individuals who enjoy complete freedom without government

2 a: absence or denial of any authority or established order b: absence of order : disorder <not manicured plots but a wild anarchy of nature — Israel Shenker>

    --------------------------------------...

So if you want us to resort to anarchy there would be no form of government, that means no federal, state, county, city, local government.  No police.  All individuals would be left to fend for themselves and that includes all homeless people.  Anarchy would more than likely make everyone homeless not to mention killing each other.  No jobs, no leisure, no schools, hospitals, police.  The list goes on and on.

Educate yourself before making a really rediculous suggestion like this.  Go back to school if you need to and learn.

  4. There is a great deal of misunderstanding of the nature

    of anarchism.

Anarchists (also known as libertarians or libertarian

socialists, in the original sense of socialism as worker-

ownership-and-control of the means of production)

oppose illegitimate authority and hierarchy, and therefore

oppose capitalism and the state; anarchists do not oppose

all organization: anarchists favor voluntary, non-

hierarchical, self-organization. Anarchists do not oppose

all rules and laws; anarchists oppose rules and laws

imposed involuntarily by illegitimate authorities, such

as the state, and favor voluntarily-agreed upon rules and

    laws.

  5. Ha, religion has NOTHING to do with politics.  Christians are not told they must live in a democracy, don't be foolish.

Anyway, it is an option of course but you should be aware of the implications.  No one pays taxes, no one is in charge, no laws could be upheld because no one and everyone is equally accountable.  Internally crime could and probably would soar, the economy would crash and eating, drinking and living would become harder.

Basically, not a sound idea, but I can see why you want that over your present government!
