  2. I have a '95 Mercury Sable. If I dumped it into a lake it'd sink. She's an old car, but runs fine.

  3. We don't dump mercury into the water because it contaminates the fish, which are part of our food chain, and then the fish can cause health problems for the people who eat them.   Mercury is extremely toxic.
