  1. Because they stay on the nest until nearly full size.  Once you see them, they just look like small pigeons.

  2. When a pigeon is first hatched it will be about the size of your thumb, With in one week it will be the size of your fist, week two it will have lost its down feathers and started to grow feathers like the adult pigeons,

week three it will be fully feathered walking about pecking for food. Week four the pigeon will look just like an adult pigeon and start flying.

I have kept pigeons for years people always ask your Q

I always show them what a baby pigeon looks like.

  3. you do. Everywhere you see pigions, there are babies.

    You just don't know it.

Pigions keep there nest high up in trees or other things. Such as 34-60 feet.

Also, you know how Purple Martins[type of bird] live in those White things WAY high up in the sky?

Some times, Pigions eat the babies from the Purple Martins, and they move in.

    Weird, i know.

I have seen that happen once from a video camera we put in one, because of the disapearence of our birds, and we saw it happen. I threw up.

    It was horable.
