It being Earth Day and all I just figured I'd ask about plastic bags. Why do we still use them, why doesn't the gov't ban them? They are just causing more damage to us than a convenience. What is your opinion and how could we get rid of them?

  1. ummm my parents use them as trash bags. We have little trash bins in the bathrooms and in everyroom. Once theyre full we still throw them out so I dont think that would help

  2. I think that we do not see the evil that we are creating with this contamination of the environment with these plastic. Politicians are operated by large companies and not accept any law against it. Good must be sent into space and fix it for the time being

  3. Silly conversation!!!  We should worry about other things!

  4. Because nothing else can carry yukky garbage without leaking.

  5. Because getting rid of plastic bags would mean the loss of jobs for people working in the factories that make them. I don't remember the number of people effected but it was a lot. While I don't like plastic bags, its not just as simple as passing a law. Plastic bags are also cheaper than paper bags, so theres a lot of opposition from stores, like supermarkets. Some cities are starting to ban them though, for example Santa Monica in California.

  6. To answer you question in your subject... we can't get rid of plastic bags because I have to pick my dogs p**p up with them. I hate pooper scoopers, bacterial traps.
