  1. Netball is in fact a "recognised" Olympic Sport. That is, at any time Netball may be added to the Olympic programme through a recommendation by the IOC Olympic Programme Commission followed by a voting of the IOC membership. This is because Netball meets all the rules and regulations layed down by the IOC (Including rules about the number of participants in a certain amount of countries and continents and having an Anti-doping policy that is consistent with the IOC). Sports generally become a demonstration sport first - we may see this in 2012! :)

  2. It is, it's called Basketball.

  3. its because netball is for women and poofters

  4. Is not really popular in other parts of the world, except for USA just like American football!

  5. I think netball should be in the games.

New Zealand and Australia Jamaica are great teams

It would be played in enough country to make it in.

So I agree it should be in

  6. There is no netball in the Olympic games because not all countries play it, but they are planning to have netball in the next Olympic games in England.  Netball is in the Commonwealth games though.

  7. what is netball?

  8. Coz America wants to dominate everything - thats why they have basketball and not netball.

I agree, netball is not for sissies, its quite brutal at times...

The IOC seem to forget that there is a SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE who also play sport.

If they can have weirdo Handball to suit Europe where its apparently played, then they can have Netball to suit Australasia and the Pacific.
