Why don't we have our own style of Alcatraz?

As prisons are getting more crowded, why don't we just build prisons on some of the small remote islands around the coast of Britain?

Because Brussels won't allow it, not at least until the UK is fully integrated into the criminal EU when they will need it to put the last remaining UK patriots into.

Rising obsession with locking people up?  The Government aided by already thought of that idea with prison ships and sending convicts to Australia again like 200 years ago.

The reason Britian does not do this is the same reason Alcatraz was closed.

Simply too expensive to operate.

Good idea.Lets make it drug free and make all addicts go cold turkey.Only allow prisoners out of cells when they are learning a trade.Take any whealth of convicts to show crime dosen,t pay not even for their families who are usually happy to live off the proceeds of crime.

why don't we ask ourselves why we are locking more people up than ever but hey a nice little island Paradise sounds good

I guess there is another way of looking at this prob.

Why are so many people turning to crime in the first place perhaps prevention is better than the cure.

I bet alot of those locked up are in prison through trying to get money illegally be that drug dealing, robbery etc.

Perhaps if the government took more time in looking at the people on the lower end of the financial scale in this country and less time looking after the middle classes and above this prob could dramatically reduce :)
