Why don't we make kids swear the oath of allegiance every morning, this Will cut down on crime?

It would not make a difference you can swear all you like it makes no difference if a person is going to want to hurt someone the fact they swore allegiance to a nation.

Most young children can't spell allegiance, let alone know the meaning of what swearing an oath  means.What a really  really really really really bad idea!.

It might make immigrants remember how lucky they are to be living her instead of wherever they or their parents escaped from. Some people need a lesson in gratitude and humility.

We must not teach kids swearwords, they are bad enough as they are. Unruly brats high on rocket fuel and ganja, stabbing old ladies to death. Quite enough don't you think?

Saying the oath of allegiance has nothing to do with crime.  Why do you try and connect the two? When your country is crime free them come back and talk to me.

If you force people to swear to something every day it will eventually mean nothing to them. They will repeat it parrot fashion & will not "hear" whast they are saying. So, no, I think it is a terrible idea.

Some will make up obscene parodies of any oath - some will refuse outright - others will refuse if it's to the Queen rather than something like 'this country and my fellow citizens'.
