To me it's absolutely a myth. Why? Because George W. Bush said it and it's good enough for me.

  1. I don't care what Bush says, I care what climate scientists say.  They say humans are the primary cause of the current warming.

It's also not possible for global warming to be a myth.  See Myth #6 here:

    http://greenhome.huddler.com/wiki/global...

Ignoring the science doesn't do anyone any good.  Global warming is a scientific issue, not a political one.

  2. First of all, Bush is not the smartest person in the world. It's not a myth. listen to Leonardo DiCaprio instead.

  3. global warming is a very political topic (not so much scientific). i believe the earth could be warming up. but i also believe that it is not cuased by humans. that Manhattan Declaration was a very good read. ive done a lot of personal research over a couple years, and my opinion is that the global warming theory (that we cuased it) is just a way to scare people into supporting them (those that promote it) politically and giving them money.

edit: if GWB could run again i highly doubt he would win, isnt his apporival rate like below 30% now?

  4. I believe global warming. I don't know if it's ever been explained to you but it makes perfect sense, and the increasing number of natural disasters and hot weather - I've noticed it myself, seem to agree. However, whether or not you believe in global warming the action suggested to prevent it is all good anyway. Using less electricity will help prevent climate change but also preserve precious non-renewable sources and less cars will decrease pollution and make everyone much healthier.

Plus, while I can understand you would like more evidence for it, surely something so devastating should be believed just on the off chance it is true - to take all measures to prevent it.

  5. Even if it can't be proven who says we can't be kind to mother nature and change our life styles slightly to help her out. Who knows if global warming is real...we would have taken action already and problem solved.

  6. It isn't a myth, there's physical indisputable evidence to prove it is happening. the polar caps are shrinking, the temperatures are rising. It's happening.

The cause though, is still debatable.

And I agree that Bush is full of beans, but that doesn't negate the fact that global warming is happening.

  7. its totally not a myth. if you go an yahoo, type "global warming", and you'll find 199,000,000 sites on global warming.

but sure, if thats what it takes to be the best answer, i'd say "YES...PEOPLE...DONT EVER BELIEVE IN GLOBAL WARMING, ITS A TOTAL FRAUD!!!!!"

    hehehehe :P

  8. Global warming  would happen if humans were on this earth or not but it seems like we are speeding it up.

&& just because u do all those thing doesnt mean EVERYONE ELSE does.

every minute in the shower you use about 6 gallons of water, and the average time in the shower by a person is 15 mins,

now imagine how many people are taking a shower the

same time you are. thts about 13242384834787423 (ha) gallons of water we are using.

and thats just water theres alot of other things

sooo dont take global warming as a joke

    its a serious matter

  9. George Bush also said that we need to let gynecologists practice their love of women...so...

But seriously, the ice caps are melting. What motivation would scientists have to make all this evidence up?

  10. It's a huge hoax!

Google the Manhattan Declaration for some good information.  It's written by a team of scientists who know what's going on and what should be done.  Not political...no politicians and lobbyists involved at all.  No dumb personal blogs to read.  Just pure facts and it's all real.  It will enlighten your day!

  11. here's the scoop. i forget what happened but earth moved a lil closer to the sun because of something and the government came up with GLOBAL WARMING what a crock of sheet

  12. Because scientists say it's real, and mostly caused by us.

This is science and what counts is the data.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)

    Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut

Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

    summarized at:

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

    http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/a...

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_...

    http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/fu...

EVERY major scientific organization has issued an official statement that this is real, and mostly caused by us.  The National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Physics, the American Chemical Society, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Association, etc.
