Why don't you ever see a Jet Li type of style in MMA?

I never see all that fancy stuff in MMA would it work?

you will sometimes see the fancy stuff, but its really not practical... check out cung le or even anderson silva - they both have really impressive striking. lyoto machida has some excellent striking as well but hes a little more conservative. the fancier you get with your striking the easier it is for someone to take you down...

No that stuff is Movie fu. Its bullshit , and it pisses me off because as a kid I used to believe in all that c**p. I dont know if you have seen it but in one jet li movie , he fought randy couture, chuck liddell , and Tito ortiz at once and won. and in the out takes he was all yeah these dudes would beat the living **** outta me. Jet Li is still a cool dude though , and I enjoy some of his movies. But a pro fighter he is not , and all that crouching tiger c**p does not work...ever. Real fighting is not pretty , its ugly sweaty bloody bone crunching pain , that not every one likes.

Fancy moves are dangerous as they leave you exposed, or consume precious energy.

That's why you don't see it on MMA, it has to be simplistic, effective, and realistic.
