Several times I wanted to express either outrage, praise or something in between to facts or opinions in your news stories. Where is your "vox pop"?

  1. Yahoo got rid of their comment feature a long time ago (maybe 2 years now) with the "promise" that they would bring it back soon, they were just working out some bugs. HA! I've seen and heard nothing since.

  2. To begin with, they aren't Yahoo's news stories. Yahoo doesn't have a news division. They merely pass on stories from various news services. They did have message boards until awhile ago. They had to end it when a small cadre took the boards over and engaged in flame wars with anyone who disagreed with their positions.

Yahoo is a private company. They do not have to comply with the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. And, as a private firm, they do have terms and conditions for using their site. Unfortunately, in the case of the old news message boards, those terms and conditions were continually violated. So, they ended that feature.
