Why don't you recycle?

Question

While I was on a walk this morning, I saw many trash cans filled recycleable things. It made me wonder, why wouldn't you recycle?

People sometimes don't recycle because it's too inconvenient. If your city or apartment complex doesn't have a recycling program available and easy to use, then no one wants to do it. I didn't recycle when I was in college because my apartments didn't offer it and I didn't have a car to take my recyclables to the nearest station nor would I want to put them in my car. But now I live in a city that gives the bins for free (up to two) and all you do is throw your recyclables into the bin and place the bin outside at the end of the week... easy as pie.

recycling is a good thing, however, my area doesn't offer it. so I don't recycle because it's inconvenient. I would if it was offered in my area. However, if you think this helps the BIG picture, you are mistaken. We have 300 million people in the United States...... out of 6 billion. do you really think the billion people in India, or the billion plus in china are recycling???? we are a drop in the bucket. What the few Americans do, while it it noble, is fighting a losing battle. even here in our own country, big business and big industry isn't abiding by the EPA laws, they just pay millions in fines so they don't have to change production standards.... but they will tell you right to your face they are doing their part..... sure, believe it.

In a perfect world, we would all recycle and the world would be a greener place...... we're far from it. and the whole carbon foot print is a cover for a new tax, by the democrats...... mark my words.

for some its the way they have been behaving for as long as they remember and that kind of a person is usually not willing to do things in a new way, then you have the ones that know it should be done and that it benefits us all but it may be "too much work", etc.. people have tons of reasons or shall I say excuses

I do recycle now. My dad took my bins a couple of years ago because it was under his feet. So I got them back and I have begun recycling again. I want the government to make laws that says:" Every Body needs to recycle".

the reason we dont recycle is because we're too lazy and we like to rush it because we think it's a waste of time..

I recycle, but i know people who dont, and they say its too much hastle. Too many bins in your kitchen, and having to sort through your rubbish.

In my town we have rubbish bins that are sectioned off for recycling. paper/plastic/glass and non recyclables.

Its helped our town out loads. Its made it easier to recycle. These are in almost every street in the town.

It's inconvenient.  Recycling is not offered in my area.  So I would either have to remember to tote the bins of old plastic and aluminum around in my car or pay to have someone come and pick them up.  I choose to do neither.

If my neighborhood offered curbside pickup for free I would do it.

I like to store carbon in landfills for future harvest. When we have the technology to recycle it with out wasting energy
