cause they are old and slow i mean come on compare the speed of allen to lebron and kobe, compare the speed of kg to bosh boozer, kidd is a leader thats why he's at the roster

probably because they don't want to have to make that kind of commitment. they've all been in the nba for over ten years now and are above 30 years of age. But, they probably were on the team the years before.

because the Big Three are pretty old, and they could get injured (blah blah) in the olympics and im sure they're playing for another ring, they dont wanna get worn out in the olympics.

This Olympic team has been 3 years in the making. The Celtics, in case you didn't notice, have totally sucked in 2 of the past 3 seasons.

Garnett and Allen already had gold medals from 2000.

Pierce either didn't want to, or couldn't muster the commitment needed to play on Team USA

I would imagine that Ray, K.G. and Paul all got invitations to try out for the U.S. team and could not commit.  It's a huge commitment after the season- and i think considering they are all aging- veterans maybe that was a factor- but multiple people have asked this question and have tried to suggest some kind of bias- which there is no substance to such an assertion.  i know the U.S. needs shooters and there is no way that i see the U.S. not taking Kevin Garnett if he was available over Boozer- so i think it was a decision by the individuals Celtics who were invited not to compete.
