Not all animals are aware of the dangers.  If they have gone off towards a main road they are probably on the scent of something and are completely distracted.

Beacause animals don't know the rules we have. We need to be helping them.

but they do as there eyes on the corners have excellent vision and they have sharp hearing far better than a human has.

That's a generalisation. Some do and some don't, like humans. E.g., guide dogs are very good at crossing the road, looking and waiting. Those that don't end up as road-kill.
